Process
We believe that the beauty of our bowls lies in the grain and natural color of the wood, and as such, we do not use any dyes or stains on our products. After we turn our pieces, we use natural mineral oil, which is commonly used for finishing products made for food use. Pure mineral oil is non-toxic and will not deteriorate. The application is simple: the oil is liberally applied to the bowl and allowed to penetrate into the wood. When the oil begins to dry, we wipe away the excess, leaving only the oil that penetrated the surface. We repeat this process several times and buff the wood surface to a low sheen.

Product Care
How to Care for Your Bowl
Wash your bowl or plate after each use with warm water and a sponge or cloth to remove food oils. Rinse, then towel dry. Avoid soaking your bowl and do not put in the dishwasher.
Occasionally, or when your bowl or plate looks or feels dry, lightly oil it with mineral or walnut oil. Spread the oil over the entire surface and let it stand for a few minutes, then wipe and buff your bowl with a cotton cloth.
Allow the oil to cure for 24-48 hours before reusing it.
